The HCDS Tie Dye Trot is more than a 5K-

It's an Experience.

The Tie Dye Trot will be Boone’s first “color run,” complete with clouds of fun colored vegetable-based dye, white race t-shirts (once treated with vinegar, these will become commemorative tie-dyed shirts), neon sunglasses available for sale, a photo booth to create amazing memories, and many fun surprises!

Pre-entry fee for the run will be $35 for an individual, $45 race day, $85 for a family (parents and up to 3 children), $95 for family race day, and we will have special rates to accommodate large groups, like sports teams or youth groups.  To register as a group, please email amyforrester1977@gmail.com or call 828-406-7351.

All participants will receive a commemorative certificate of race completion, and winners in several categories will win some excellent prizes.

Race t-shirts will only be guaranteed to those who pre-register and complete payment 3 weeks in advance, but they will be awesome and totally worth making the commitment!  Any additional shirts will be available first-come, first-served.  If you miss the t-shirt cutoff, we advise wearing a solid white t-shirt and creating your own tie-dye.



​1 Mile Fun Run will happen on race day, for kids of all ages who aren't up for the whole 5K race.  Parents, if you are running the 5K, please plan for supervision for your children who plan to participate in the Fun Run, both before and after their mini-race.  Thanks!
